The F!NK & Co. Single Stem Vase pays homage to founder Robert Foster’s formal language and references his data and light sculpture The Journey. This work featured 37 individual tusk-like Ossalites set into the floor, housing a sequenced LED lighting system. The Journey was installed at ACTEW AGL Canberra in 2010 and cemented its legacy as a beacon in Canberrans' daily commute over 12 years.

Made from aluminium, the Single Stem Vase is shaped using Robert’s unique water forming process, which accommodates the creation of the fluid, organic shapes synonymous with the F!NK aesthetic. These minimal forms are designed to house a single stem flower. The weight of the water acts perfectly as a counterbalance for holding a long-stemmed Australian native. They work beautifully as an individual piece or collective sculpture, memorialising and celebrating both Robert as an individual, and the cherished Ossalites.
Two pieces are formed with a visible seam that runs along the arc creating a ridge or backbone — just as Robert was the backbone of F!NK + Co.. Each vase is individually hand finished before being anodised.
